Getting Comfortable with Your Sketchbook

Learn to make a practice of using your sketchbook to tell the story of your every day life. Your sketchbook is a place for sketches, ideas, impressions, and a place to work out problems, artistic or otherwise.

We will explore materials and sketching techniques to help you get to know your sketchbook better.

About the Instructor

Elizabeth Alley

Elizabeth Alley is a painter and sketchbook artist from Memphis, Tennessee. She received a BFA from University of Memphis in 1998. She has shown her work locally and regionally at Crosstown Arts, Dixon Gallery and Gardens, the Nashville International Airport, and Wavelength Gallery in Chattanooga.

In 2025, she participated in the Arctic Circle residency and continues the practice of making work about landscapes experienced through actions.Visit Elizabeth's work at www.elizabethalley.com
