Your Sketchbook Practice: In-depth Sketching for Beginners
Elizabeth Alley
This four-week class looks at the what, why, and how of a sketchbook practice. We will look at different ways of using a sketchbook and investigate materials, methods, and observational sketching fundamentals. We will sketch from master copies, small still lifes, and outdoors, and use collage and text to deepen our connection to our sketchbooks.
Keeping a sketchbook is an important part of an art practice, serving as your playground, confidant, and analog external hard-drive, all while sharpening your skills by keeping your hand and eye engaged in coordinated movement.
This class is for beginners and for experienced practitioners looking for a refresh.
