Do you get the urge to document your travels in an analog way? Do you want to capture the way a trip feels as well as the way it looks? Sketches retain your sensations of the place where you drew them.

This two-week workshop explores sketching from direct observation out in the world to help you prepare for sketching when you’re traveling, or even to document your day.

We will explore travel sketching from around the world, materials that travel well, and experience sketching outside with minimal tools.

This workshop is for people with some knowledge or basic understanding of sketching or drawing from direct observation.

Please note that, weather permitting, we will make a little trip ourselves, a short (0.3 mile) walk down the street to experience sketching in the world, but there is also a parking lot at our destination if you prefer not to walk.
